I am so extraordinarily lucky to have a dad who likes and knows how to fix cars. He's all over that shit. So thankfully, he was able to get my tired little Jeep happy again. I guess it was a water pump or some shit.

So as cool as some of you are on this site (and you know who you are), I must say that overall I'm not really impressed. For a bunch of supposedly progressive people, there are just as many cliques and snottiness and too-cool-for-you stuff going on. I had really hoped that it wouldn't be that way, but alas.... Like I told monastrell, I'm almost happy I'm done w/ vacation this week, so I can start working again and not have the time to burn up here...

Lesson of the day: To thine own self be true. One of my friends, who I simply adore, is a mega-wild crazy crazy party girl who has the unfortunate trait of being scared to be alone. After almost 2 years of marriage, and an enlightening event, she has realized how much of herself she has changed/toned down in order to appease her husband, who is a very sweet, but quite conservative man. She now is faced with either accepting the status quo (and hating herself for changing) or needing to loosen the grip on the marriage a little. Very sad.
