schadenfreude

So I withdraw hundreds of dollars in cash, drive across town to the tattoo shop, just to find out that clearly the artist was not listening to a word I said when we talked earlier in the week, and the picture I brought in must have meant nothing to him. He redrew it a couple times and it was..... just wrong. I mean the artwork looked nice but it was so far from what I had described to him. I think he was probably supremely annoyed with me -- but I'm the one who's got to have the ink forever so I had better damn well be in love with it. So I left.

So bleh. Now I gotta find a new shop. The other artist who owns this shop shall remain nameless (although the fact that he is one of the #1 artists in Phoenix gives it away) and I love his work so much but I don't want to wait 8 weeks to go to him either. Plus he's a notorious flake and I don't want my shit cancelled at the last minute. Soooo.... time to move on. Now I just gotta find someone who is good at traditional style stuff. If anyone has any recommendations.............

And I was really excited to get new work today too.

As an aside, if you like Greek food, you MUST MUST MUST go to this new place, Cyprus Pita Grill, next to Trader Joe's at 20th St/Camelback. It is the best fucking Greek I have ever had, and my friend said he hadn't had Greek food that awesome since he was in Paris. It's so flavorful and fresh and delicious. I stopped and got myself a consolation Greek salad on the way home from my aborted tattoo trip today and it was sooooooo amazing.
