I heart tracheas.
I did not heart my job today though. My intake of nutrients consisted of a sugar free Red Bull in the morning, 2 liters of water throughout the day, a Xanax at 4 pm, and a leftover bean enchilada thing at 8 along with a mostly tequila margarita. 12 hours of working and being too busy to eat really kind of blows.
Our buddy over in the ER had to treat a schizophrenic man in the midst of a psychotic break who cut off his own penis and then ate it. This may be the only time his job is more fun than mine.
No exciting specimens for me in the last few days. Boo. We did have another acardiac monster in the department last week. Sick and weird. Even better, the family didn't seem to understand that it really, really wasn't a baby, and they wanted to see it and hold it. Okie dokie then.
I'm back on the autopsy service next month, so I should be ripe with stories then.
