So the show on Saturday... what can I say about it.

well first of all due to the warning from another band about making sure people were cool or else they'd get beaten up ... that made me a little nervous. Bullies tend to pick on me cuz Im smaller than they are.

but after hanging out with the band for a little while before the show I was good to go through anything.

then Anything happened ... we get there to hang out. Mind you one of our guitar players wasn't there yet cuz he was working till 7ish which still would have worked out for our plan. But anyways those of us there get there and theres all this talk of
"wow you guys finally decided to show and blah blah blah"
"You guys better get set up fast cuz the band that is going on first, isn't going on first anymore and so its you guys now"

So we set up and wait for our guitar player. The dude running the show is getting a little nervous because due to the fact that its an outdoor show, sound violations permit that the bands can only play till 11. and here it is 8 o'clock no sign of our full band and a nervous promoter.

So we suck it up and play... 2 songs. We begrudgeoningly hammer out two songs that we know we can play without him but won't sound as good.. and they didn't. But the crowd liked it enough to suggest we play more even if we are just dicking around for a while. That was an interesting call.

So we play two more songs.. longer songs that we messed up a bit. I promoted us, our website, and download.com but it totally blew my mind to talk about the other bands... which was a major faux pas that I have to apologize for next time I see them. But we have weird relationship with our local scene. Probably because there are only three bands on our scene with any potential and ability. Im not saying we have the most but we are probably up there.

So after we finish our last song our guitar player finally shows and has a good reason due to an emergency at his job and having to stay a half hour later. So we wrecked him a little in front of the crowd just for fun. He said we sounded awesome from an outside perspective. Which made us have to recouperate his self esteem a little but we had fun.

a little pot after our set and we all had fun. The other bands were awesome!!! Screwtape and this band DC4 if you ever get a chance to check em out do so. They both have their own websites like we do so if you can find em check em out. Tell em Even When Empty sent ya.

There was going to be a huge rumble it seeemed so we booked it after the last band. I was beat.

came home to the new house and crashed ... watched a bit of old school.. funny fucking movie man.

so thats how the show went.
