Went skating again yesterday at the plaza by my house. It has some sweet ledges, and beautiful almost skate park smooth concrete leading up to them. Followed by an irresistible rounded stair set.

Problem was there was a small girl throwing a massive tantrum. Her parents had decided it was time to go. She had other plans. The parents had simply picked up and left her to her tantrum, so every time I was mid-ollie, I would hear "DAAAAD!!!!" lose concentration, and land flat on my ass.

Now, I get the feeling the parents approach is to ignore her till she goes hoarse from screeching. I just don't think this is the best idea.

I suppose I'm just sore -- both figuratively and literally -- that they chose to leave her sitting in the park screaming while they went home to their townhouse facing the park.

Oh, they could see her, and, every so often, they would peek out to see if she was still there screeching out her lungs, but, unlike everyone else in the park, they couldn't hear her.

I'm not a parent. I have no idea how much of a little monster she can be. If the banshee wail she could let out repeatedly is any indication, I'd rather not think about it.

Still, me and my tailbone were not amused.

Should I buy an entry level "serious" digital camera, or should I go balls out and pony up 3 grand or so for a higher level pro DigiCam?

Update: Couldn't wait any longer. Bought a Mid-level digicam (cost me $700), a Fugifilm FinePix S5000.

I can't seem to stop dicking around with the continuous shooting feature. I now have about 100 photos of the walls as I run by them clicking off 5 frames per second.

*joy*

stacie:
i think you made a good camera decision. no need on laying out a few grand unless you are making that more + money back on it.

the only catch is that they call you the next day and give you a hard sell on all the accessories and extended warranty.
