I'd like to thank the few of you that left me Happy Birthday messages today. It means a lot to me.
Very Unfortunately, I spent my birthday burying a grandfather.
My grandfather on my father's side, George Donahue passed away last week at the age of 75 due to complications with his liver, and his funeral was this morning.
I have to say the hardest part was when my older cousin gave her eulogy, and it was just too much. I couldn't help but cry. But I was able to see family that I don't get too very often. My father's side is composed mainly of boys, so of course... it's the side I more relate to. It's also my Irish side which I have quite a bit of pride in.
This is a picture of him and my grandmother when they were 21. They were married very happily for 54 years.

He was the father of 5 boys, 1 girl and the grandfather to almost 20 grandchildren. I'll miss him.

Second, as a embalmer and funeral director aka mortician: I am glad to hear that you were able to see family that you haden't seen in a while. It is of course unfotrunate under the circumstances under which you reunited, but it is an opportunity that I have seen many families take for granted. Sometimes...the passing of a loved one breathes a little life into a family's bond.
