Well my pets, what a fantastic couple of weeks it has been. Firstly, I managed to grab a ticket to the Nancy Cartwright show "My life as a ten year old boy". For those who don't know, Nancy is the voice of Bart Simpson. It was a funny and insightful look into the behind the scenes world of the Simpsons.
Next I had the luck of scoring tickets to the one and only p!nk show in Australia. P!nk played at the Metro in Sydney to a sell out crowd and she went off. It was one of the best concerts I'd seen in quite a while (apart from Foreigner, but more on that shortly). P!nk looks and sounds amazing live and really got the crowd going.
Last night I went to Utopia records and had the opportunity to meet Foreigner. They were there to promote their tour and sign CD's, Records and whatever else the fans brought along. I was again lucky, I arrived a few minutes after they started and there was only five or so people in the line. It seems that advertising the fact they were there was forgotten.
I purchased their double greatest hits album and got the members to sign it as well as a photo of them all.
They were very friendly, shaking my hand and hoping I'd enjoy the concert. The lead singer even enquired of me as to the location of the concert (the State Theatre) and if it was a good place to have the concert.
And finally, I've just returned from the Foreigner concert. It was brilliant. The Choirboys, of Run to Paradise fame, (and incidentally, my European Contiki Tour theme song) started the show and worked the crowd into a wild, enegetic frenzy that near exploded when Foreigner took to the stage.
I've never seen a band work so well with the audience, allowing them to dance and jump around in the isles. The songs were great and sounded fantastic in the State Theatre. The highlights of the evening were having a man propose to his girlfriend on stage before "I've been waiting for a girl like you" was played to them (by the way, she said yes), and the most amazing rendition of "Jukebox hero" that sent the crowd wild.
All in all, I couldn't have asked for a better night.
Now I just have to wait until Sunday when I go and see Toto in concert at the Metro.

phantasy:
Awesome, that show with Nancy would have been so cool. I saw her on Rove, such a spin out to see who does Bart's voice isn't it!
