I have to be one of the biggest dorks ever. Which is ok by me because I'm happy with it and so should you 
So firstly let me ask you folks a question.
Have you ever turned your back on something because the hype has made it so big that you feel like it doesn't need your help yet in the end you, you end up liking it anyway?
Examples? I thinks so.
1) Scrubs
This tv show blew up so quick I thought to myself you know what I am not going to watch it. I now own 7 seasons on dvd and am excited for season 8
2) Harry Potter
These books took off. They got so big adults began reading them and they are huge even after the seventh book has been out for what 3 years now? I refused to read them because I was not going to be sucked into them. Now however, I have read all Seven and I have them on my ipod in audio Book form because they are good Back round noise, but I fell in love with the Characters.
3) Dave Mathews Band
I still can't believe I have his music on my ipod. I finally gave into it because my Brother and his wife listen to him, and one of my friends from work listened to him. So I said why not and after hearing the songs "EE HEE" and "Save Me" I asked my friend to burn me one of his live shows and shabang I like his music.
4) Twilight
this is actually the whole reason this thought went threw my head today. My Brother and his wife read all of these in the last 3 months and said "You have to read these!!! " I was like I don't know I mean aren't they written for teenage girls all romance driven and shit? So I took the first one just to show them I would be open to trying it. I beat around the bush and finally started to read it. at around page 175 I was just sitting there in my running gear reading and not leaving the house. It really is good I could do without all the descriptive work on Edwards Musculature and everything but in general I want to find out what happens! and that is when I know I'm hooked.
So Have any of you been down this road? Have you hated a band of a movie / tv series or didn't want to start wearing Flip flops or something and then figured out how awesome it is?
Ok so I am going to finish this off with two very different music videos
This is "Save Me" by Dave Matthews and I love this song I could listen to it over and over and not be upset, all though Dave seems a bit annoyed and slightly retarded in the opening
I absolutely love this song and the video is even better
This is "Tainted Love" remade by : Marylin Manson . This video actually got me doing Break dancing for awhile .

I would really like to go to the Aggrolites show I've never actually listened to them but I also can't say I've been to a bad Ska show so I would love to go but I'm pretty sure my Nieces birthday is on the 13th and I am a big deal to her so I will have to be there
