This frustrates me to no end. We all know that Pit Bulls are the media's favorite enemy. But what you don't hear are things about the "other guy's dog" for example.... we've got a pit named Lucky. Great dog. Great companion.. loves loves loves people.. adores babies, very obediant- all aroung great animal. However, Lucky doesn't like other dogs and we know this. So we make sure that all gates, doors and fences are secure before we leave the house, we're mindful to take him on walks, or to the field at the crack of dawn- when the chances of running into another dog are fairly slim. However... our neighbors.. have this little teacup chihuahua yapper dog thing, that they let roam wild. He's constantly hanging out in our yard, in the middle of the street.. and occassionaly will pop up over in the field when we've got Lucky out there to play. Thankfully, Lucky listens really well- otherwise that little dog would have been eaten by now. You know.. he's the only dog in the nieghborhood that roams free... the rest of us- keep our animals in check and are very respectful of each others times at the little field by our houses. This morning.. while I had Lucky out there.... I had one eye peeled for the little yapper and one eye on Lucky. Now I know that people get up in arms about Pits, but it isn't just us as owners of this breed, that shoul dbe held accountable... Other people need to be responsible for the overall safety of there pets too. To let a dog run wild in anywhere.... in a someone elses yard, in the middle of the street, etc... is as much to blame as the next guy if something happnes to there animal. Anyway.. sorry for the tangent... It just occured to me this morning. I have to laugh though, since normally, the boy takes Lucky to the field and I just hear the tales of the Mis-Adventures of the Yapper Dog...... but since he's out of town, I stepped in to give Lucky his morning sprint in the field... and of course... now that I HAD to do it.. I get all fired up about it. hahaha.. typical huh, it's all fun and games to you have to get involved. Anyway.. have a great day - I'm off like your prom dress.
