Guess what little boys and sweet little ghouls, it's that time again. Time for another of Rya's Random Rants.... and once again there's alot on my mind. Lucky, lucky you. It's funny actually, since I've been on myspace so long now that alot of people I've known and loved for a lifetime are on there. Which is amazing, but when it comes to journal post- there's some stuff that you just don't want those nearest to you.... to read. I'm old fashioned that way, give my anonymos or give me death! ahha- note the phonetic spelling there. Yes, I've got mad skills. haha.. *sigh. That's funny on so many levels, first and foremost, it's funny cause I would never use the term "mad skills" in earnest. It kinda sucks actually, since I get made fun of quite a bit for speeking like "a geek" (as an ex of mine so sweetly put it... but then again we were 21 and in guy years that made him about 16) *just teasing, just teasing.. everyone put down there swords and lighten up. Anyway, here I am- Saturday day, just me, some smokes, an obscene amount of coffee and fucking amazing tunes. Hmm, how very beatnik of me... sheesh. Bukowski would be proud. Well, actually- really.. seeing that A) I'm a woman, and that's Bukowski's cryptonite and B) I'm not drunk outta of my mind, which is his full M.O. in life. Maybe he wouldn't so proud. Well, fuck it- you win some/lose some. So Rya, what's on the musical agenda- you ask? Hmm, well world- today its SubHumans. One of the greatest bands to ever exist in this world. I know, I know- that's a fairly bold statement to make, but I stand by it. Shamelessly, in fact. SO, in answer to the musical line-up... right now (duh) it's SubHumans, song title, "Till the Pigs Come Around" which, just to give you the illusion of being here, with me - right now, here's a little snippet for you "Oh what a great experience/ my house is full of deviants" *sigh... there's so much more, but I don't want to run the risk of boring you. haha. You know, I've got to say that March is shaping up to be the worlds greatest month ever...since, as far as music goes- my Top 5 bands of all times are as follows
1) SubHumans (duh)
2) GBH
3) The Meteors
4) Blood for Blood
5) rotates depending on my mood
but the aforementioned ones never move. Ever. (How dramatic is that right? haha) So, as I was saying, so far this March.. I was able to make it to GBH's show in SF, which was fucking perfect. I didn't stop smiling for days afterwards... I mean, after all- they closed the show by doing their cover of The Clash's "White Riot" honestly, how can you beat that?? And just about the time that I thought I couldn't never be happier- low and behold.... the SubHumans decide to breeze through town. Well, to SF that is- like there going to make some random stop off here in our little beach side town? haha... wow, can you tell how much I love music? It's weird, I'll go months only listening to punk, then suddenly.. it's even longer just listening to psycho or rock or hell, even Irish drinking songs... sheesh- I need to break out of the musical bubble eh?
Oh jeez, I just realized how long I babbled on about nothing- well.. on the bright side, at least you never have to wonder whats on my mind, right? It's the little things that count. If I had a cape, this is where I'd toss it over my shoulder and say something oddly ominous... but having no capes, nor witty parting sayings- I leave you with Meet the Parents..... *Focker, Out.
