this semester may be cool. i have drawing, an advanced design class, intermediate photography and some philosophy/logic deal. if there were no ex-boyfriend hovering over me things would feel as close to perfect as various situations would allow.
oh well.
i'm getting grounded from the computer for my first design project...that's really fucking rad.
it occurred to me how ostentatious people are the other day when i went to a degas exhibit at the museum here. about 90% of the people i overhead were on some variation of 'he's amazing' but had no idea why. it really irks me when people try to come off as appreciating art and they in reality have no idea what they are appreciating. there's nothing wrong with not knowing, i don't know as much as others, but those are the types that think you should be quiet in a museum and should act this way and think that way.
and i had an extra ticket to the show because i get 4 with the membership... gave it to a random lady who overheard that i was trying to give it someone and apparently needed one to get in with her family, and she asked for it. that was cool, but she didn't even say thanks. it was a sold out exhibit and it was an 18 dollar ticket.
THEN some lady tried to cut in front of me in the line when i was getting food at the cafeteria, and i just got in front of her because i had been waiting and it was plain rude. i hear "jesus christ!"... to which i turn around and stare at her which sort made her shut up and shrink down being that i was only about 4 inches from her face. what the fuck is wrong with people? she was rushing to sit down and eat. it only took her an additional 1 or 2 minutes to be behind me. and if she were going to have a sugar attack or something she could've asked and i would've taken no issue with her cutting in front of me...
people operate under ridiculous fallacies. i'm sure i do to some extent but i hope i'm not that bad.

but degas sucks ass, just my .02 i really dislike impressionist art for 2 reasons,
1. it was a really radical form of art that was all about breaking the established academie style, but once it started making pimps like degas and monet and cassat money, they stoped being creative and started churning out cute pictures to make the americans open up tha wallets, and
2. can't stand the color palate.
only 2 impressionists i do like manet (who always tried to distance himself from the impressionists) and cezanne (not really and impressionist to begin with, but thats a whole 'nother story)
also, you are an art snob, just like me! we were made for each other!!! and line cutters do suck!

k, i will. just the types that see the word "gallery" and say, "oo, art. art is what i should be into". then they look around to make sure everyone else is doing it. they usually discuss some valueless work with a glass in one hand and some sort of spread on a plate near them. even when they say why they like a work, it is open and shallow. i just wanna be there when it happens and pull a Good Will Hunting moment like he does in the bar before he gets the girl.
quiet dignity when not knowing is the key
