I need a bigger garage. My parents think I'm crazy, everytime they bring up replacing my car, I tell them I'm thinking about something even older. They first suggested I buy a car from 98-2000. I bought a 96 Jetta. They asked me what I was going to replace it with when I got a new car, I told them a 92 Jetta, now I have an '89. When the topic was breached again I told them an '85 Cabrio. Now I want an aircooled, soooo, like as old as my parents.
(I feel compelled to note: When I say, I bought a 96 Jetta, I mean *I* bought it... with, you know, wages and savings. Sorry, too many people get all bitchy when I mention my affinity for vehicles and they go, "Oh, so did mommy and daddy buy all those for you?" No. They didn't. I did. Fuck off.)
Lame thing is I can only keep one car at home at a time. That's reasonable obviously, it's not my house, why should I populate it with cars? So right now the '89 lives at a friends house, the '96 lives at my parents house (and got used for a month when my dads car got stolen, so that was good), and if I get a Type 3, I suppose the 89 will stay in LA, the 96 will work DD duty at home, and the Type 3 would get built at my friends house. I need my own private shop.
