I had a blast from the past last night. I was out playing pool with a few friends at a large pool hall and the waitress at the bar recognized me from High School.

It's kind of funny because I went to high school outside of Montreal and it's been a good 3 years since I saw anyone from there.

In high school, I didn't fit in (and with a total of 800 students, everyone knew everyone in their grades) while this girl was a popular girl who wouldn't have looked my way for anything but collision avoidance. Okay, maybe I'm a bit harsh on that, but she was definately in and I was not.

However, she was very much more friendly last night (and got me fairly hammered with a free pitcher.) This seems to support my theory that High School brings out the worst in people while college usually force them to mature more.

SHAMELESS PLUG: If you need a PHP/Perl/SQL/C programmer with a Linux/BSD/Unix administration background (or a systems administrator with a programming background) I am available for contract/full-time work. ;-)

i've never been a fashionista. and was never into make-up. that is, until i moved to toronto. not that i feel an overwhelming need to conform since moving to the big city, but shopping here is... well... kinda fun. capitalism is evil, yes. but sometimes playing dress up is worth being part of the machine. just for a day or two.
