How has SG changed YOUR life?

This weeks SGH homework is: How has SG changed your life? How has finding and/or modeling for SuicideGirls affected your life, your self esteem, relationships, & friendships? Thank you @missy, @rambo, and @lyxzen for assigning this at the perfect time! I became interested in SuicideGirls a little over two years ago. Once I began following the page and the girls I began to realize that I felt a personal connection to be able to be like any one of these girls! Once I saw the @blackheartburlesque show on Halloween in the city (NYC) it was a wrap! I became confident enough that I could be one of these girls! A few days later I applied almost as a longshot but to my surprise I received a welcoming e-mail that same evening! I immediately told all my friends, posted about it on social media, etc. I had never been so excited in my life!! My friends supported me 100% (and still do) do I have them to thank as my original fan club! When I was in high school, I was the president of photo club and and spent a lot of my recreational time behind the camera. When I finally was able to shoot my first set I was mind blown to see how it was in front of the camera. Throughout my teenage years I had a few insecurities but being able to be a part of the SG community has completely lifted my self esteem, my confidence and made me feel empowered to be a woman! I absolutely love SuicideGirls and everything it stands for! SG attracts attention and with that can be negative attention as well. I have learned through this process that you cannot be hurt by words if you are confident with who you are! I truly feel blessed to be a part of this community, it has truly bettered me as a person and made me appreciate smaller things in life. "Curiosity killed the cat and it was the HOPE of satisfaction that brought him back" thank you world for this opportunity! i couldn't feel better about myself if I tried! xoxoxo SARABI_
