What I have to say is this (as a misguided believer in God): it is true that religion(s) have been shaped to discriminate women. The male instinct is to be dominant, and so when he is given religion, his instinct is to interpret it as such so he is made superior. These interpretations, however, are often contrary to the teachings of religious texts. They are certainly contrary to the overall message of most religions.
It's a pity. Religion could be a beautiful thing to be venerated.
Instead it is a dangerous thing that people must be prepared to protect themselves against.
May God have mercy on us all.
