this infuriates me. how is anti-semitism similar to the disgust we feel for pedophiles? basically, to draw a correlation between the two is to say people who dislike child-rapists are similar to nazis. or, is it more like saying catholics are all pedophiles? i'm not sure. let's take religion out of the equation totally, and look at the 'abuse furor' for what it really is - the catholic church as an entity, as a BUSINESS, made the decision to hide, and to enable the pedophile priests who held high positions in communities as therapists, counselors, and spiritual, moral and ethical leaders. these predators just destroyed people's lives, and were then re-located BY THE CHURCH to unsuspecting new parishes, with fresh, tasty new kids. back to religion. i'm an atheist, but i'm not totally ignorant about this thing called religion, and i'm pretty sure these guys were supposed to provide a safe haven for the children in their communities. so for the vatican to get their panties in a bunch over a backlash is a bit offensive. this has turned out to have been a global child abuse machine. fun! i just don't understand the 'oh poor me' tone the vatican is taking. understandably, this has shaken many people's faith. how can someone be expected to trust an organization that would carry out a world-wide, decades-long cover up of ongoing child-rape. so, call me a nazi, but fuck you, your eminency.

i was raised catholic and even attended catholic school from grades 4 through 8. i'm no longer a practicing catholic nor even a christian at this point. i stopped going to church in my mid teens and dont regret it one bit. organized religion is virtually always corrupt and this is a full-blown screaming example of the hypocrisy that exists in the vatican. unbelievable.
