Picking Up
Someone chatted me up by the magazine rack yesterday. I'd been flipping through FHM, and he looked over my shoulder and said something like, 'that's a lovely bikini, don't you agree.' I looked at him, raised an eyebrow and shook my head. 'It's too tame.'
Among other things, i just realized that someone has a subscription to Esquire in my family. That someone is apparently my mom.
And Martine is begging me to bear with him; although I must say I'd rather bear him upon me. Hmm.

Rainy afternoon, date with Martine that got fucked up because too-many-people-look. Young girl, older white guy kinda problem, what a pain in the ass. Hes so gorgeous I cannot possibly see why it should be a problem in the least. So what if hes old-er, if you really want to be shallow, at least he falls into the category of the tres chic and very desirable.
I hate being in public with him, or with Chris, or with any decent guy I like for that matter, because Im still bothered (note, not concerned. Bothered. ) with what other people think. With M its not so bad, because he is good-looking, and I feel proud when I walk about with him. Like I got a good catch, ya know? But with the other blokes; Its just like wearing a pair of super-comfy shoes that are slightly worn out and dont really go with your outfit. People look at them and stare at you weird, and that bothers you a little, but youre happy nonetheless. Your happy with yourself, just a little tiff-ed that their opinions should matter.
Anyway, I suggested a number of things rather off-handedly to M today. First off, I hope he breaks up with Liz before I leave the country, then I wish greatly that I can spend some time in Europe with him, alone, in the summer, and then I hope he will leave Singapore soon and go back to the States because at this point in time, it seems like that would be the most sensible course of schooling decision for me.
Speaking of which I need to run off right now to do a TON of work! God-damned.

in any case, i understand what you mean, except im usually the guy with the cute girl.
Girl, age isn't the only thing that drawns people's attention and reprovation; a small guy with a tall girl, inter-racial couples, and a nice one, different classes couples. I'm so danm luck that I have already been in ALL this situations, even the age factor, at some point of my life - even at more than one of this categories at once.
Personaly, I think that it only matters that it bothers you if you change the way that you treat the person or if you stop to hang out with this person because that. If not, it is because the well-being that you feel with this person is stronger than the much that they can bother you.
