Stuck in Bangkok, going to a beach resort tomorrow. Really glad I met a cool woman on the tour bus yesterday that taught us how to get the best deals for lodging. The place we're staying at now isn't all that fantastic, and costing much more than I think it's sensible.

We're slowly learning how not to get ripped off and having lovely candlelight dinners by the river. I think we're going to some old colonial place later in the night to watch a concert, we'll just have to find out where the hell it is.

All the cab drivers rip you off, and you really have to make sure that you ask them to turn on the meter before you start the journey, otherwise they'll just charge you shit.

I wish I knew a smattering of thai, that way at least I can pretend I'm local or something. I hate hassling with cab drivers. And don't even bother with Lonely Planet. They are a shit travel guide. I think they get comissions out of the places they advertise. Fuckers.
