sometimes, i put words together
when inspiration strikes

My only wish is

to be caught in that candid moment

the glow of the street lamp in my eyes

hugging the contours of my face

revealing the windswept, tangled hair

that took so many minutes to perfect, and

So few seconds to undo.



edited repeatedly because writing poetry, or anything really, always makes me feel awkward and somewhat clumsy.
