Time for an update I think....

This is going to be all upside down. Obviously one thing sticks out from this week - The London Bombings. I live over 100 miles away, but I don't know anyone that doesn't know someone who lives there. You know the chances are small that someone you know has been affected directly, but just like when you hear on the news about a car crash very near where your family live, you feel an urge to contact them...just to make sure...

...this was kinda more than that. The first reports came in of "electrical surges", but you knew it wasn't that at all...you knew straightaway it was terrorism...and already you are emailing people, personal messaging them on forums, texting them on your mobile etc. Anyway you can, you try...and not until everyone has checked in do you rest easy.

You could say that we're a close knit bunch on one of the forums I'm on....many of us have met on several occasions, some of us have forged long term friendships (and relationships/marriage) out of it...so, there was marked concern about all the Londoners. None of us rested easy until later that night when everyone had been accounted for.

And then you hear the fortunate stories - one of them would most likely have been on the bus that was blown up, had he not got drunk and stayed over at his girlfriends the night before, one would have been at Edgeware Road had he not slept in...Just luck in some cases.

But, like the tragedies of the past, this will never be forgotten - another indelible blot on your memory that you'll be asked many times over the years "Where were you when London was attacked?".

Even now, we don't know the full scale of the damage and the death toll, and I can't even begin to think about how it is for those that have not yet found out about their loved ones.

The sad fact is, no matter what any politician says, there will always be terrorists. Making sure they don't strike on your home soil is the most important thing, and that is where the war on terror should be fought.

Back to other things, which really do pale against that, so I'll go through the week pretty quickly:

Sunday: BBQ round a friends house. One of her friends was there who I kind of like, and she likes me....problem is she's leaving the country for 18 months soon....we'll see what happens for the next few weeks. I think I need some fun.

Monday: Combination of things led me to not going to work today: the medication I was taking for my knee mixed really badly with the painkillers I took....and the alcohol. I wasn't with it all day.

Tuesday: If I could write this day off history, I'm sure it wouldn't be missed.

Wednesday: Well, we got the Olympics! Thats my holidays sorted for 2012.

Thursday: Enough already said.

Friday: Went back to the doctors after work - I've been referred to physio because he is still unable to make a diagnosis as he can't do proper tests on what is wrong with my knee as all his tests cause too much pain. He can't refer me to the hospital without a diagnosis....problem is, there is a waiting list for free physio at my surgery, though I'm going to try and get fit in early when I call this week....we'll see.

Saturday: Ha....nothing done but relax!

Hope all of you are well! Take care!
