so, i went on an adventure this morning...

got up, had my bagel, got dressed, grabbed the dog and bag, and started walking. we don't normally do real long walks in the morning, 'cause i have to get to work, so we just went around the block and back home. well, whaddaya know, we get back home and the door's locked. that's good, you know, safer... 'cept i didn't have my keys on me. oops?

let's see, just call someone. my mom's got an extra set, my ex still has one for when he takes care of the dog, etc. but, hmm, whaddaya know? i don't have my cell phone either. i got me, the dog, and um, yeah, me and the dog.

okay, grab a couple of quarters out of the truck and head off in search of a pay phone. 2 short and 3 long blocks later, i find a pay phone that eats my quarters. :sigh: luckily, the mood i'm in, i'm just laughin at this whole string of nonsense.

okay, walk back to the house, a little annoyed that i can't just wander in some random local business to use their phone 'cause i've got the dog - and now that it's getting closer to 9am, more of them are open.

stop to talk to some city workers on the way, ask them if they've got a cell i can borrow for just a minute, explain the whole production. they're terribly sympathetic, and really like the dog, but can't use the phones 'cause all they have are work phones... so be it.

get home, reluctantly get the dog settled in the back yard since i don't really have a better option (i realize this may sound odd if you don't know my dog -- i have a retired greyhound, so he's not the kind of pup you can just leave alone in the yard... he jumps).

but -- long story short (too late) -- asher napped peacefully in the yard while i walked back to the car rental place to use their phone. i just had to promise some young employee that next time i rented a car it would be from them... lol. fair enough.

oh - caved and bought the new ministry album yesterday. absolutely fucking rocks. i loved animositisomina, hell, i've at worst liked 'em all, but... houses of the mole is a return to a prev energy and sound i like a lot a lot a lot. now all they need to do is post some damn tour dates!

hmm -- weekend plans? taking off early from work today to go shoe shopping. found someone to take my dots ticket tonight, so that's settled. still might catch reno divorce at the blue mule, but we'll see how i'm feeling as the time comes. i'm severly underslept.

tomorrow dunno yet. playing it by ear. sunday, the 4th, gonna hit a bbq with my dear wofats. monday i hope to fall asleep in a sunbeam somewhere. i know, i'm a party animal.
