i am having so much fuckin' fun!! spent two days on the boat with my big brother. took the st. john's down to one spring, and then camped on the boat at another (i wanna say astor, but for some reason i've a bit of a block on the name). i love being on the river (gators!) - and man oh man were these springs beautiful. just crystal. looking down to watch all the pretty fish and turtles (love turtles, i do) and even some blue crab! not to mention the natives, lol.

i, of course, started my period about a half hour before we left. gah. not that i was miserable or anything, but damn if it ain't a small boat without a lot of privacy. oh well. we're family. and my niece, his daughter, is in her early 20's - so i'm sure he's had to deal with it before.

i did so many things that i never would've thought i'd do. wouldn't have thought i _could_ do. i've boated with my bro before - and it's always way fun - but i've never been the other grown up for it. so - i got to drive the trailer back to load the boat, winched the boat myself (my bro said it was the best it's ever been!!), all that kinda good stuff. actually drove the boat some, too! so cool!!

all that said - the coolest was just sittin on the back of the boat in the dark, danglin our feet in the cold spring water, drinkin chocolate martinis and talking. sitting there the next morning watching the storm roll in across lake george listening to the thunder and talking. and talking. i love my big brother.

so, today we're back in town - though we've gotta get the boat back to the marina at lunch - it's takin' up the whole damn yard, lol. (for those of you that know such things ((i don't, btw)) it's a 25ft cruiser) then i'm shoppin. 'cause it's vacation right? hooray.

and, of course, missin my man, cause that's what i do best... next summer, honey, we're vacationing together.
