Belated Bday celebration was such a delight! It was gorgeous at Belmar Beach. Beautiful, warm day with clear blue skies. The wind was perfect for kite flying too. Seriously I haven't flown a kite since I was a tyker and I forgot what absolute fun it is! I never flew a kite over the ocean (having not grown up near one) and that makes it that much better.

It was a crew of us and of course the boys had to see who could have the longest "kite string" (ahem). My friend Jay actally bought 2 balls of 400 ft twine. He tied them together and launched his kite 800 ft out. So far out that it became a pinpoint in the sky and I could barely find it half the time. Boys seems to always end up having the battle of the penis somehow. So funny.

We also had some great seafoad out on the bay side. Crab! yay! I also treated myself to my first beer since my treatment started. I selected a hefeweizen style beer with a slice of orange. It was served to me in a frosty glass (THANK YOU!) and was so fucking good! ahhhh beer how I miss you!

The only thing that didn't work is my SLR's battery was dead (duh should have checked it). I still forget as I was only a manual photog before. I love my SLR because I can't get to the darkroom as much now but I forget things like "checking the battery" and I'm more nervous about getting mugged when I go to the hood to shoot (well I live in the hood but I mean when I go to the "hoods" that aren't my "hood"). If you know what I mean.

There are parts of the city I love but being at the shore is the best ever!

tonight grilled chicken and homeade three bean salad. yum!
