It looks like I have a good shot at getting a job offer for both of the jobs that I interviewed for! After my interviews, both have asked me to provide references. If they didn't like me, they wouldn't ask, right??
So, I either need to quickly learn a lot about EH&S for laboratories or peptide synthesis. Both are in the same university, and both have great benefits.
I still haven't heard from the sheriff's dept, but I understand that anything having to do with the county is a very slow process. It could take 6 months to a year for me to get a job in their lab.
Sometimes I used to see people my age or younger having the time of their life while I was studying my butt off and working at the same time to make ends meet. I used to question if I was doing the right thing because everyone else's lives seemed so much more fun than mine.
I still feel that way sometimes, but right now I'm exteremly glad that I did the school thing. The economy is in the toilet, yet I may have just landed a job much better than the one I lost in March.
