Nearly finished.

Scared/Happy/Sad/Amazed/Excited/Worried.

I'm finished with this program on July 5th; about 3 weeks? I can't believe I have been with these people for over 8 months now. Living, working, going out, and spending every single waking hour with these people.

I don't deal well with people sometimes. I don't play with others very nicely, but I am sure as hell going to miss this group. They are my family, as weird as that sounds, and they mean the world to me right now. This whole program is a giant test of wit, diplomacy, compromise and tenacity and it has been very very difficult for me. I don't compromise very well, specifically. I have nearly been kicked out twice, and have almost quit more times than I can count; but I'm still here, and I am going to finish. Ha!

9 months of work. About 50 hours a week of volunteering making 3 dollars a day. A food budget of 5.25 per person per day, and learning to make my own bread; from scratch. It was so hard, and so fucking tiring. I've never done things that I have disliked so much before in my life, and I have never met people I have found so useless as I have here.

But you know what? I'm glad I experienced that all.

On the bright side, I do get 1000 dollars at the end, a pretty swank toque and a pretty good knowledge of how to keep a house clean. But the real benefits have nothing to do with any of that, you know? I have met some really really amazing people here, and I have learned so much from them.

I do Tai Chi every week with Nic, a Francophone from Qubec city who happens to be the only other guy in the house left.

I have learned to speak French pretty well, in my opinion, with the help of a girl named Nomi from La Sarre.

I've developed a love of Swing Dancing, and do it whenever possible, wherever possible with my fabulous dancing partner, Mel, who comes from Ottawa.

Marine has helped me realize that my way isn't always the only way, and that despite the fact that I may not agree with someone's ways I can still respect them. She's from Montral in case anyone is keeping track.

Every lunch I go to a caf with Meg. We talk about Hockey, we rant about life and we gossip. I wouldn't still be here if it wasn't for these times. She left this weekend to go home for her brother's grad in North Vancouver, and I didn't realize how much I like having her around.

Thats just my housemates. There have been so many other people who I have met and taken something from.

Camille.Lisandre.Gilbert.Marc.John.Tim.Justin.Miranda.Karine.Chris. Just to name a few.

I bought a harmonica and want to play music.

But mostly, above all, I just want everyone, that includes you, Dear Reader! to know how much there is out there. Get out there, have fun, laugh and dance like noone is watching and do everything you can.

Mel just headed upstairs and said "Goodnight, Corbeau". Meg is cooking rice. I am posting photos.

Tim and I in Regina. I look homeless and my playoff beard looks horrible. We danced.

I'll add more once I get some help to resize them. Where is Anna when you need her? On that note..I have a message to leave.

anna:
im right here, silly boy!

i ordered a new ac adaptor for my laptop, so i should be up & running by the end of the week. then i will resize your photos like nobodys fucking business. and i will be proud to do it.

luckily for you, i have a major fetish for homeless dudes. no, seriously..... i do. that one is going into my corey desktop folder as soon as humanly possible.

we are taking the kids to the movie theatre today, so after hours of bus rides, screaming children, and cgi-induced horror, your voice will be unimaginably comforting. i thank you in advance.

ps: i have recently acquired a fluffy blue skirt which is just begging to be worn to a picnic with a cute boy....?
