I did something stupid,
and got in trouble for it.
Deservingly.
But nonetheless the whole thing chafes.

My flat looks good though.

it's all very white... with a big red wall.
We sat down afterwards, three of us,
with a curry from a real, honest-to-god,
awfentic Brick Lane curry-house,
a bottle of wine and a little block of hash.

Nestled in amongst the openness
of this empty (but beautiful) appartment
(my appartment)
we watched Spirited Away on my laptop.
And all was well and good.

All very lovely.

What do you reckon of the whole house-moving/-warming malarky?
Should we attach emotions of loss and grief to places,
or should we reserve such sentimental depths for people?

Hmm...

Right, off for more packing.
Tell me something cool about East London,
particularly Brick Lane.

In fact, just tell me something cool
about somewhere cool...

Pretty please.

Brick Lane rocks. We should all go there for a curry sometime.
Itis okay to attach sentiment to places, as long as it is in perspective. I am more sad about my parents selling my childhood home than I was to leave my first married home. I guess I keep memories in my childhood home that I cannot bring with me in my current life - first fumbles, tears, tantrums etc. What I had in my flat, on the other hand, is still with me, wherever I go.
Puppy dog eyes right back. kiss

anaphalaxis:
your space defines your mood and is symbiotic with your sense of wellbeing (or otherwise). Therefore it is not just the space that you're reserving touchy feely emotions for, but the sense of self you've associated with that place.

I'm drunk though, and everyone who knows me knows that J drunk means either total lucidity or utter bollocks...

which is it this time!?
