well, all paid up and thus, i suppose, still about, I still think of you all enough that I though I should drop in, see how you all are, and fill you in what I've up in the last 6 weeks...
working backwards:
1. my dog is dying. he has epilepsy, pancreatitis, was recently diagnostic as diabetic, has developed cataracts and now was sent home from the vets with cancer of both the kidneys and lever, and too weak to survive the surgery. it could take days, it could be weeks. he's in decent spirits for now, so i'll be heading over to my mum's for a while to spend some time and watch it all happen... the vets were lovely though. if it gets to it, they've said that they can come over to ours to put him down so he can die at home. he's only ten and a half, and is one of the loveliest, greatest, smartest, most beautiful dogs I've ever had the privelege to know. Meanwhile, my increasingly hurtful grandmother still battles on. I know it's a horrible thing to think, but perhaps I'd rather...

2. same day: won a cocktail competition for cointreau and bols. 125 and next month I go to glasgow for the finals. top prize 1500. which would be nice.
3. girfriend took me out to celebrate. dinner, drinks, miami vice (one of the worst films i have ever seen in the cinema... even if a private one)... and she paid for the lot. god she's great!
4. girlfriend threw the coolest party in the whole of London, without a doubt, to start the London Design Week shenanigans... Wunderville, it was called, and wasn't it just?!
5. Handed in dissertation 25 hours early. By the time I'd chopped out huge chunks to get it down to the word limit, I hated it, and no longer think its very good either. Maybe that's just the way it's meant to go. Either way, I am now, for better or worse, a master. Real life is beckoning, but I'm going to keep hiding for another week...
6. Stressed out like you wouldn't believe for that damned dissertation. I only finalised the title on the morning I got it printed and bound! A Moving Tradition: Nomadic Subversion in Transcultural Capoeira. It'll do. Wanky as can be, but it'll do.
And so, what now? No idea... but, as always, things in the works...
Once in a while I stick my head back in here. The nakedness bores me a little, I must say. It seems that things must always repeat, and with my world ever growing, surely my circles should enlarge also... Perhaps only disaster leads that way.
Reading my first bit of fiction in ages. Murakami's End of the World. Fucking brilliant! Round the world trip on hold. Love blooming. Money almost gone.
And the new photo was from a job I did... Officer and a Gentleman meets Captain Birdseye, I fear...
