back from baku.
got arrested; got let out (thanks be to diplomats, I say!)

a steaming total of eight hours sleep in four days,
and I have been up now since, in local time, three-thirty this morning.
tired bunny...

met a girl before I left, but, as with all things in London-town, we shall see...

there's a hill just on the outskirts of baku
from which there emits eternally a constant flame.
now, I expected a dark and brooding tolkeinian pile,
all black and slick and imposing,
whereas, in reality, it was a hillside, all turkish looking,
from which, on the side of a cracked-earth path there springs, well, fire.
three feet high, seven feet across, and ... hot.

it was all really rather surreal, to be frank. or johnnie. or carl.


as was the bar tour from a local foreign office chap with diplomatic immunity.
cue: open doors and booze galore. huzzah!

well, anyway, the vodka launch went well
and there is talks (as there always are) of grander projects
adrift on the horizon potential.
