I think I've related this one before, but the time has come to relate it (again).

The Life of Man in Four Days
a Tibetan Parable

Day One.
A certain man walks down a certain road. mindful of the beauty of his surroundings, he suddenly and without warning plummets down a large hole in the road. He grazes against the sides of the hole as he falls, and when he hits the floor it is a painful landing. He is surrounded by darkness; he is hurt and afraid; he knows neither where he is nor how he got there, nor how, or indeed if, he can find his way out. After a short while he feels around for the walls and begins to climb. Eventually he reaches the top and, bruised and shaken, he continues down the road.

Day Two.
The same man walks down the same road. Once more, without realising it, he falls down the hole again. Once more it hurts and as, as he sits in the darkness at the bottom of the pit, he asks himself angrily, "Who has put this fucking hole here!?" He climbs out and, again bruised and this time pissed off, he finishes his walk down the road.

Day Three.
The man walks down the road. This time he sees the hole but, for some reason falls down it again. The pain is less this time, for he knows what is happening to him. His anger too is less this time, as he lies at the bottom of the chasm. He realises, cursing himself as he does so, that it is his fualt for falling down the hole, and no one else's... He climbs out and he finishes his journey.

Day Four.
On the fourth day, the man walks down that same road. He sees the hole in the street, marvelling at how he failed for so long to avoid it. As he goes down the road, he simply walks around it and heads on down to the end.

Day Five.
The man walks down a different road...

confused

I though I was on day four.
It seems that it was actually more of a day three type scenario...

We broke up early yesterday morning.
Of course, she sent me a long email yesterday evening telling me that it was all her fault, and she is clearly messed up, and blah blah blah... But then, don't they always say that?

Given the shit in my life over the last few months, this one isn't so bad.
But man am I close to having had enough!

Well, back to no regular sex!
And I was just getting back into my stride, so to speak.
Yikes I'm shallow!
shocked

Three and a half months... It felt like I was actually going to break my 7 month record! Oh well ... That's my road. That's my hole (Freud, it almost goes without saying, would love that as a metaphor for my relationships).
What's yours?

(And thank you so much for the lip-biting, well-placed-grunt, moaning details... Adds to the characterization, what.)

rubbish! good luck on picking up the pieces. and enjoying the 3 and half months for what it was anyway, rather than what it failed to be [ie 7 months]. it's not a race or a contest, it's just living. live it up yo! go wild x
