Yay for the masses!
I lose my job and my co-workers revolt. Management has lost their trust. 3 people sending out their resumes. And a fourth who will soon lose it.
On the plus side - I have a potential financial backer for a coffee shop (his suggestion). And an in at some place called StarCom. It sounds like the name of a company that might bring on the Apocalypse. So I may go out on my own, or work for some other schmuk. Or both.
Then there is the money obsessed mom, long-skilled at using and abusing others. She's got investors for a bar. But I "never trust a survivor until you know how they survived." (Vonnegut, from Bluebeard). I think I have some stuff to work on.
In the end, I just want my own space to breathe in and I don't need much room usually. It doesn't matter where you are or even if you're with the people you love or hate. If you can't breathe, relax and do your own, there just ain't no satisfaction.
