Why Great Revolutions will become more Rare.

When social conditions are equal, every man is apt to live apart, centered in himself and forgetful of the public. If the rules of democratic nations were either to neglect to correct this fatal tendency or to encourage it from a notion that it weans men from political passions and thus ward off revolutions, they might eventually produce...

Worst of all, our freedom is threatened by our own selves in our tendency to delude ourselves with comfort.

I think that is a very, very important point. We have the choice to circumvent power, control, and domination, and often we choose not to- out of convenience, or to save ten percent on your first purchase, or, or, or. It's signing away your freedom, piece by piece.

I've been out in the sun all day. I wanted to make this coherent but, well, this will have to do for now.

Hope you're well- while being angry.

Yesterday. Nine PM.

My car surges East down SR 316, that short stretch of undeveloped country between Atlanta and Athens. It is affectionately known as the highway of death, for its history of fatal car wrecks. Wooden crosses and flowers bear witness and line the shoulders. Behind me the sun has set, and the my rear view mirror is on fire with the glow of...

No, that's not awkward. I see and feel it. Beautiful. Only travel can give you that feeling, travel under the broad blue night.

Another funeral.

A police officer who I occasionaly cross paths with in my work died. Young guy, a bike cop. He died of an asthma attack.

That's two people from work in one month, both young.

Wow.

It turns out Jesus and Mohammed Tree Service has a bit if notoriaty about these parts. Not long ago they refused a job to cut down a large live oak that they thought should stay. I like that.

Yesterday was great. Thunder rolled all day. . . and the sun stayed out. It rained eventually, but before the deluge the juxtaposition of storm and sun...

Southern culture is like none other on the planet.

"We embrace our crazy people" - I can't remember who said that but it's true. We love our crazy folks here in the south.

A branch with a circumference as large as my two arms can reach around fell from a pecan tree in the neighbors yard, and collided with the magnolia tree in my back yard. It came close to hitting the house, which would have pierced the roof.

I had to go to work, but I suspect the owner of the pecan tree called a tree specialist,...

My cats live better than me. I haven't slept since Monday, I think. Work has kept me from going grocery shopping. The cats, though, have an endless supply of high end cat food and sleep all day.
I love my cats.

uncommoncold:
I've never had cats. My dad despised them, so we never had them around the house while I was growing up. Since I'm home so little these days, I don't think it'd be fair of me to have one now..

I'll stick to goldfish for the time being.

Eat! Sleep!

And, um, I just read your body modifications- Latin and Italian? That's hot. wink

I just got the crowd out of the theater, an accoustic country/rock set. It was great. The crowd must have liked it, too. One couple got ejected for screwing in the balcony. Too bad. Even though I do security, I have a certain anarchist perspective that people should do what ever they feel. Of course it doesn't hurt that the girl was hot, too. How...

Co-worker's 16 year old son was murdered.

It must be tough.

marieceleste:
Fucking madness. I can't even imagine.

My goodness.

I wanted to come over here and say hello because I read your comment on Celeste's journal. Now it seems all awkward because your entry is brutal.

Hello, though.

The golden sun, the longer days, the catalyst of heat,
It stirs the molecules inside of me slow at first,
But then by miracle the movement activates,
Wakens my long slumbering senses.

There is violence inside of me!
The positive kind born of inertia!
I must become physical!
I must expand being the limits of my skin!

This is a strange time and place,
When...

Ahh! Creativity is nice. I've been working on a lot of projects. Time is flying by. The down side, my creativity requires me to lock myself up, so to speak. I lose touch with the world. But I like living, too. But right now, it sucks. I must make plans for that soon. Going out to bars, traveling. Actually seeing daylight (seriously!).

Burn it down,...

I am with you on the snooze button. Those things are EVIL!!! I was wondering about you - hadn't heard from you but hope you are doing well.

I have tried Wellbutrin but it made me cry uncontrollably for days - so no go there. He is giving me Zoloft so we will see about that. I am tempted to say fuck it and just deal with the depression - at least then I can get off. I think that is part of my problem - not enough sex.
