Recovering from too much fun last night.
This shit cracks me up: "and then, out of nowhere."
schadenfreude
If a good part of humor is but tragedy plus time, I say why wait for the passage of time to laugh. This is an increasingly humorless world, with an increasing amount of tragedy piling up. We need to tap new sources of entertainment! Get a little...

Today I got a letter from Yale University denying me admission for Fall. Oh well. One down, nine schools left to go. My new job selling art supplies at Hobby Lobby is tiresome. Everyone asks if I am from Ireland. I'm not!
I was born in Cincinnati, but grew up in Atlanta, going to speech therapy in both cities (I was a late talker and...

Because of the huge number of comments on my latest set... You are receiving this comment late and it is the same comment that I am leaving everyone else as well. I usually try to thank everyone individually and much more personal like, but I would just never in a million years have the time to do that this time. So, I just want you to know that I appreciate that you took the time to comment on my new set. It was very wonderful of you, and I'm sorry that my return comment is so impersonal. However, if you want to stop by my page and say hello sometime, leave me an email, whatnot I'd love to chat. I am nice to everyone that is nice to me.
So, thank you very very much for your nice comment on my set! It is appreciated.
Happy late Valentines Day!

Hello sweet sailordunk.
Rectum Love! Ain't nothin' wrong with that!
I absolutely know what you mean about the accent thing. People are always shocked when I tell them I'm Australian, always with the "No! You're not!" Yeah, whatever, I'm lying. I'm verybored of that conversation and I have started letting people know I'm not up for it. Shut up, yes I am Australian, yes I know my accent is faint, no I didn't try to lose it, no I'm not American or Canadian, and yes I bloody am sure I'm Australian! First 23 years of my life spent there! Can you hear the exasperation? So, my advice is, next time someone asks if you're Irish, just tear their head off, perhaps it will discourage any others from the same misconception.
Bugger about Yale, but you know that the right school will be the school you end up at. I just hope you find out soon, it sounds like you are more than ready to exit stage left!

Humans are strange. They are most curious in nature, more so than even they realize. Communication between humans is often characterized by the use of what they call a "question," which they employ whenever they want to inquire about something and feed their curiosity. This questioning, this curiosity, is their ultimate expression of their self awareness and sensitvity to their environment. In an experiment I...

Oh yeah, I think you may enjoy reading about Arthur Stace, the lovely man in the pic I posted above. I just love what he did, writing in chalk, so imminently impermanent, where ever he though people would read... Eternity. I think that's beautiful.
marieceleste:
You can't sound like any more of a crack pot than yours truly.
Also, re the man pissing in the Duchamp, check this.

Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, although I'm not sure if "Happy" is the right sentiment. Perhaps Good is better.
Although a lost month in Mexico is tempting, better times is the better road, methinks.
And thank you for my sea shanty.
Nobody has written any poetry for me for years.

I am sad tonight. Lonely, without good conversation. I should keep these things to myself.

aspasia:
Yes, I've been to Murano. Have you been?
(And thank you, again.)

marieceleste:
No no no, don't keep it to yourself, please don't think you should.
You're in limbo at the moment, aren't you?

So pretty. Magic.
Maybe you need to take some Butterfly Potion and it will magic you over here. Give you delicate wings to fly the Atlantic. Might be a tad cold tho.

See, I don't even know enough about photo to know how one would go about getting one's photos into a gallery. But thanks for the compliment!

aspasia:
I *may* have been on a staircase. *May.*
marieceleste:
mmm
aspasia:
Thanks, but nope. I never went to art school. I know jack about photos--other than the ones I take.
I'm mainly a writer, that's what my MFA is in.
I like your work!

I went to my shrink appointment today and actually spent an hour just shooting the shit, cracking jokes, and laughing as if everything was right with the world. Not bad. I've been in town for 2 months now, and I am starved, hurting for meaningful conversation and fun. Sad. Fuck'n suburbia. I and it have nothing in common.

Is that what you pay him/her for??
aspasia:
I guessed the Hay, because I know they have a book bound in human skin.
I have never seen that movie. I should though--that soundly like a deadly combo.
Thanks for your compliments on my hobby-work.

I am stuck at the airport after having missed my suspiciously cheap and ridiculously early flight. I'm now getting on another flight in 2 hours to Altenburg, and I'll have to get the train from there to Berlin.
Re lovesickness, I think I may have tracked down the source of this illness myself. For me it is like a tearing in two directions at once, a terrible desire to contradict my instincts. After a couple of unpleasant romantic disasters last year my instinct is to stay single, not give in to this bloody dangerous tepmtation to partake in coupling. Also, as Chet Baker says... I fall in love to easily, I fall in love too fast. It's only a week and a half I've known this man, there's no reason for me to believe we have a special connection that will last. I can't know anything about the longevity of our coupling and that drives me near crazy.
So yesterday my heart finally got together with my brain, and they have agreed to stay safe, to be optimistic, but definitely excercise caution.
I like this man, but I don't know if I can trust him yet. In the meantime I MUST trust myself!
From Out of Nowhere / Faith No More
Tossed into my mind, stirring the calm
You splash me with beauty and pull me down
You come from out of nowhere
My glance turns to a stare
Obsession rules me-Im yours from the start
I know you see me-our eyes interlock
You come from out of nowhere
My glance turns to a stare
One minute here and one minute there
Dont know if Ill laugh or cry
One minute here and one minute there
And then you wave good-bye...
Sifting to the bottom, every day for two
All energy funnels, all becomes you
You come from out of nowhere
My glance turns to a stare
One minute here and one minute there
Dont know if Ill laugh or cry
One minute here and one minute there
And it hurts inside
One minute here and one minute there
And then you wave good-bye...
