One thing I find difficult about serving is trying not to bother people too much and refraining from jumping into their conversations...lol. I enjoy bartending so much more because you have a much better opportunity to have conversations with people. There were a group of people at my table today and they all had computer print outs of the American film institutes top 100 movies and they were all discussing it for some reason..Now I am a complete movie nut and I may have mentioned before that I have a book of the 100 best movies of all time that I have been working my way through. I have only 5 left to go. It was killing me to not jump in on these peoples conversation. I made mention briefly to one of the guys of my book and my quest but they all kinda looked at me like...ok that's nice...now go away...lol I'm just starved for attention I guess.
