I don't normally due this but i had an unsettling experience today. I'm a server at a local bar/restaurant sort of a

sports bar but we have a really huge beer selection and decent food. I had this older couple at my table they

seemed very pleasant at first I went to their table several times and checked on them, got them new drinks ect.

I don't like to bother people too much because they get annoyed so I usually walk by the table and look and

see if it looks like they need anything. I walked by the table and the lady asked me for a take-out box and her check.

When I brought it back this lady started tearing into me. She said " We have really had a hard time getting

ahold of you tonight." I was confused because i had been to the table several times. I said " Mam I apoligize I

have been by here several times I did not think I was hard to get ahold of, I didn't mean to ignore you." She snapped

back " oh, is that what you were doing ignoring us?" I told her No and that I was sorry she felt that way.

She told me " I don't think you understand what it means to be a waitress" I had to walk away I was so mad I

was shaking. I made someone else drop off the check. They left me no tip. I just don't understand what

posses people to be this rude and hateful. There once was a time when people were polite and respected

each other. Working in the service industry isn't always easy and some people seem to think that you are

beneath them and they can take out all their attitude on you if you don't meet their unrealistic expectations.

A lot of people have never had a service related job and have no idea how things work and what we go

through. The moral of the story............Please be nice to your server, be patient, the world does not revolve

around your table alone. One hateful comment can ruin someone's whole day
