You know, I live across the street from a gas station. As my fellow San Franciscans know, parking is a precious commodity. As it turns out, there's a long stretch of parkable sidewalk with some forgiving time constraints. Although it is at a major intersection, there are no meters. Nor is there a zoned 2-hour parking limit. All you have to do is not park there on a weekday between 4-7PM, then on Thursday at some time for street cleaning. I'm quite pleased with this arrangement.

This stretch of parkable sidewalk always has plenty of room for three full-sized vehicles. In theory, at least. Unfortunately, nine times out of ten, some ASSHEAD parks his shit several feet away from the end of the curb, *ensuring* that only two and a half cars can occupy this hotly desired real estate.

It's crap like this that makes me want to get a motorcycle. Almost. In reality, I would never consider getting a bike in a town as traffic-crazy as SF. Then you add the relatively common rainy weather, the cobblestone crosswalks, and the mess that is downtown Mission Street, and it's just bad business.

What I really need is my own parking spot. Unfortunately, a restaurant is opening on the ground floor of my place, which will make parking that much more difficult. Since I don't typically get home until 6:30 to 7 at night, I'm already playing catch-up.

I wish I worked for a magazine sometimes. Most of them are done, done, done at 5PM. Solid. Long lead times, too. It would be nice.

This is why I've always felt that my people(Germans or facists, take your pick) have always had at least one thing right:

efficancy.

I can't tell you how many Saturday nights in the city have been ruined by lack of available parking because some assclown can't PULL THE FUCK UP.

that is all.
