Wow, so it's been like, a couple years since my last blog. I kind of have a back and forth relationship with this site where I either spend all my time here, or forget that I even have a membership for a while. Either way, I'm back in a big way, baby! Updated the profile a bit, changed some groups, posting in groups again finally, and here we are with the first one of these goofy things in a long as time! The funny thing is most of the people I was friends with on here back when I used to actually update this are probably gone now, and if not, we've lost touch, so it's like starting all over again. Which I kind of like, because when I was posting before it was before I got a handle on my depression, and I'm a whiny little bitch when I want to be. Either way, I'm mostly just writing this for my own personal reference.
Let's see, what's new with me? Well, I am unemployed for the first time since I was 16. I got laid off the day before New Years, after almost 3 years with the company and they asked me to come back, but I decided it was just the push I needed to get the hell out of the pedal bike business finally, so I took some time off for a change! Now I'm about a month and a half into being unemployed and bored out of my skull. Time to start looking for another job to tide me over until I get into firefighting.
So that's another new thing: for the past year I've been working towards becoming a firefighter! I have my EMR certification, a class 1-6 drivers licence, etc. and I applied for the first time last year (not expecting to get in, since most people apply here 3-5 times and might never get in) and I actually managed to pass all the tests! I was super happy with that, but now for the past while I've been exercising like crazy, and I'm determined to get in this year!!!
Anyways, that's the big new stuff here. Other than that, I'm just itching to get back on a motorcycle. I have no idea why I'm trying to start a career somewhere where it's cold for most of the year when my favorite thing to do is ride my scoot. I'm a masochist, I guess.
