Okay....so the fall battle has begun to keep the bugs and the mice from migrating from the cold outside, to the warm inside of my house. It's an annual battle, that I've done pretty well at winning the last few years. Spraying for the bugs and poison and a few traps around for the mice.....it's a war I don't intend to lose.

Today is grocery...

I made a new friend!

laceyglove is a cool lady....we seem to share the same taste in food and also share a midwestern background.....good people come from the midwest!

Cool, damp and rainy here today. A little rain in the night, that woke me up around 4am. It was one of those moments when you wake up, hear it raining, turn over pulling the covers...

I just noticed coffee is under your vices, i knew investing in your friendship was a smart decision.
laceyglove:
Coffee facts are always good. I love a good cup of coffee after supper, yep, you're forgetting i'm from North Dakota and we call it supper. That's what it is called. My favorite coffee is from this great coffee shop down the street from my house. It's called Misha's. I get the Route 66, a nice dark coffee. Nothing is better than grinding up coffee beans at home and taking a good wiff before you make that first pot of coffee. I could go on about coffee but i won't bore you. I do have a soft spot for Swiss Miss cocoa too! smile

Wow...the last few days have been pretty good!

Things seem to be humming along rather smoothly right now. smile Some improvements have been made that have reduced the worry factor somewhat.

I've got a few key things that need to get done this week and somewhere inbetween those, I want to find time to get my bike cleaned up. It's pretty well covered in bug guts...

The tooth will be saved!

Well, sort of...

After considerable effort and consideration, it looks like the broken tooth will be getting a crown....it will be the King of Teeth!

It's still broken and the crown is at least 3 weeks off....apparently royalty moves slowly. But, there is no pain and I can get along with it for awhile.

Question for today:

Why do people...

or when your mouth is full of food?

metal slide, how could i forget, and you'd take a running start and run all the way up.

my first kiss was in 2nd grade to Christopher Carson(sounds made up but he's for real) he and i would sneak kisses on the playground behind those huge tractor tires.

my front right tooth is fake. in 5th grade this boy Ebbie Shores tripped me and i feel face first into a metal chair. oochie mama.

Yep....a tad bit cool this morning!

32 degrees really made my barefeet step lively on the cold cement this morning as I went out to get the paper. Clear as bell and bright sunshine though. The house was cool enough, that I switched on the furnace, just to warm things up a bit.

I have a fairly full day of things to do....I usually feel...

Hope your Mom is well.

32 degrees! Now that's some nice fall weather. You are making me jealous.

I hve about 10 acres of land in alittle country town in PA and have often thought about building alittle log cabin. There is a nice creek ( crick if your country) that runs along the land. I just don't know if i'd get boried from living in the city for so long. But then again, how do you get boried with nature? The smells, sounds, seeing beautiful wild flowers. It makes me miss it, but alas, i'll have to live vicariously through you!

Have a great day smile

Another Hump Day...another Hump Day dollar!

Still going easy on the water usage...the well is slowly recovering, but it might be a couple of days before I will feel comfortable going back to normal water usage. It's just one of the things you sacrifice when living out in the rural country. But, there are enough other good advantages to living out here, that more than...

Thank you for the congrats.

It always feels wrong this time of year, being warm. I remember last thanksgiving i had my windows open. Growing up in ND i loved the brisk weather, the fall was fall feeling.

How long have you been living there?

Have a great day smile

Hmmmmm...Friday was my last journal entry...today is Tuesday....where did the weekend go?

Been a little busy I guess. Despite a few shorty rains the last month, it's really been pretty dry here. My water comes from a well...and a shallow one at that. I've had water problems the last couple of days. Something that uses water... toilet, washer, dishwasher, etc. must've stuck open and drained...

Another cool morning....but glorious, bright sunshine....which always makes me feel good! smile

I have my usual daily routine this morning, but this afternoon is scheduled for running errands and grocery shopping. I only grocery shop once a week and by friday the cupboard is sometimes beginning to get bare. I just pray that I don't get the cart with the wobbley wheel...that really ticks me off...

how could i forget weenie roasts and pumpkin pie, don't even get me started, kikiBH and i are food whores.

the Beach Boys, Pixies and Dick Dale are always summer group favorites.

Do you live in a small town, well not super small but cozy? I lived in one in PA and the football game, marching band and hot chocolate reminds me of it. Leaves crunching under your feet is always a nice fall sound too!

I just spent 150.00 at the grocery store yesterday morning. i love to grocery shop during the weekday. The shelves are always stocked, produce looks fresh and there is noone in sight.

have a great day smile

i live about 6 miles outside of DC, in the city and anytime after 2, forget about shopping. Parking can be a huge issue as well.

I sued to live in North Dakota, well years upon years ago, so we always ate yummy comfort food. Very hot to keep us warm from the scary cold. Actually i miss real winters. Blizzards and snow, lots of snow. Here they shut the town down if we get a few inches. Bunch of suckers. wink

Yeeoww! Cool this morning! The ther - mo - meter was on 34 degrees when I got up this morning. The sun was just enough above the horizon for me to see my breath and see the frost down in the pasture when I went out to get the paper this morning. I didn't think it was going to get that cold overnight, so I...
