My haircut is great...as usual. I had goofed around and not gotten it cut for 3 months, so it was getting pretty long...well, long for me anyway. It's good to have it "summer short" again.
Coming home from Des Moines on Thursday night was almost perfect. Once I got off the interstate, there was no traffic at all and I was able to twist the throttle on the bike just a little here and there. The temperature couldn't have been better....not to hot in the leathers....it was one of those times when it was so perfect that you really just don't want it to end. The sun faded behind the horizon in a brillant red sunset, that lasted up into the clouds long after the sun had actually gone down. I rolled into home, just as it was getting dark and time to get off of the road, because the deer would start moving about. Deer on the road and motorcycles just don't mix well.
Getting on the bike has become even more exhilerating lately. Feeling like you and the bike are one, instead of rider and machine is really quite amazing. The syncronicity, harmony and fluidity of speed, distance, movement and motion can be quite intoxicating.
We could use another good rain, but I think we'll have to wait a few days to get it. The sweetcorn and raspberries will be ready anyday now and would mature even faster with another inch of rain.....it maybe time for my midnight rain dance.....
Have a great weekend.
