Two thunderstorms swept through last night....about an hour apart. The first one was thunder, lightening, rain and no wind....very nice. The second one was thunder, lightening, rain and HIGH wind. As a result, my head high, beautiful tasseled sweetcorn is now flat on the ground. frown It will probably stand back up again....sort of...maybe....but it will not be nice and straight, standing tall again. It will also hurt the pollination of the ears when it's time for the pollen to fall and make the kernels on the cobs. With it all leaned over, the pollen will not fall straight down on the ears. frown Damn! And every thing was going so well too!

Made a trip to Des Moines for a haircut yesterday. I had called the day before to make an appointment with Josh who does such a good job of cutting it. His receptionist screwed up and gave me an appointment for his day off. Nothing like driving 90 miles to get a haircut and then be told there was a screw up. I'm just vain enough about my hair, to not let anyone else cut it and screw it up for the next 2 months. I get the best haircuts I've ever gotten from him and though they offered to have one of the girls cut it, I declined. I hate having a bad haircut and I just didn't want to take the chance.

I did some other things while in the city that I wanted to get done. I bought a new lens for my camrera....it should just fill the slot that I was missing. I'm anxious to put it on and try it out. It was a used lens, but was only 2 years old looked great and was guaranteed by the store for 60 days.

Saw the Batman Begins movie. LIked it alot. Christian Bales did a good job as Batman, but I still think Michael Keaton was the best Batman. He would have been great in the role in this movie. It was definitly a darker movie and more in keeping with the Batman legend. Overall, I thought it was a great movie.

The drive home was great last night. I had the windows down, the moonroof open and the stereo cranked up. No traffic at all once I got off the interstate and it was just the perfect eveing to be out driving. I thought about riding my bike to Des Moines yesterday, but the predicted storms (that didn't come until well after I was home) made me leave it in the building. It was the perfect evening to have been out riding and I missed it....just another screw up, to a screwed up day I guess.

Happy Thursday....make what you can out of it!
