I had the nice pitter patter of rain on the roof early this morning. A few rumbles of thunder along with it....the kind that wakes you just enough to know it's raining and then turn over, pull the covers up under your chin and go back to sleep with a smile on your face. It was a nice 1/2 inch rain and just what we needed. This morning, the sweetcorn is standing shoulder height tall and it leaves are hanging open to take in all the moisture that they can. The last 4 - 5 days has been a little hard on the plant life. Rain was needed and the hot winds have been blowing. The poor corn had it leaves rolled up tight in an effort to keep the hot winds from drying it out. This rain was a godsend and the only way it could have been better was if it had rained another 1/2 inch to give us a full inch of rain. A few tassels are just beginning to peak out of the top of the corn....it won't be long now!

It's becoming increasingly clear to me that Cool Whip, just may be one of the all time greatest inventions. I marvel at it every time I use it.

Just what is it about that is so fascinating about suntanned skin that is peeling? I have a spot on my upper arm that got a bit burned a week or so ago and now it's peeling. Why is trying to see how big of a patch of dead skin that I can peel off in one piece so interesting? I guess you could say that I'm easily amused.

I'm in real need of a haircut. I think my hair must go through cycles where it grows faster at different times. One day it's fine....a few days later I'm the shaggy dog. A haircut is always a good excuse for a day to get away to the city and do a few things.....like shop or see a movie. Actually, maybe it would be a good thing for my hair to grow fast all the time!

Ok....this was alot of randomness today....I guess today I"m a random kind of guy....
