I whipped up a great Sunday dinner....pork shoulder roast with carrots and onions....my homemade mashed potatos and an apple salad....it was hard, but I held myself to just one helping and didn't have seconds.
I tried to get a nap in the afternoon and catch up on some sleep, but couldn't seem to snooze for more than a few minutes at a time. I went to bed a little early last night and slept well, but still feel a little tired and washed out this morning.
Saturday was cool and windy again. I met with the guys that I'm taking the motorcycle ride with in a couple of weeks, for a pre ride meeting at noon on Saturday. We all met in a town about 50 miles from here. I decided it was too cold and windy to ride my bike....the others rode theirs, but I think they wished they hadn't. We talked about exactly where we want to go and what we want to see while we're there. We also decided about how far we would ride each day and made plans for an alternate destination, should the weather going to, or at the Mt. Rushmore area be bad ( cold, windy, rainy ) about the time we are ready to leave. If we don't go north, we'll head south to hopefully warmer climates.
These guys are all really particular about their bikes ( at least more than I am ) so I can see that I'm going to have to take the time to get mine cleaned up and shining perfectly, if I don't want to take a lot of ribbing from these guys on the trip. I don't leave my bike dirty or anything, it's just that I'm not quite as anal and perfectionist about every little spot as some guys are. Some of them will want to walk around wiping things off at every gas stop. Being that particular ruins the enjoyment of being out on the road riding for me. I'd rather enjoy the ride and worry about cleaning the bike afterwards when I'm home. It should still be a fun trip and they are a good bunch of guys. I'm sure we'll see a lot of new and neat things on the trip. I'll be leaving on the 26th and probably getting back sometime late on the 30th. I think I have pretty much everything gathered up that I'll need for the trip already....now it's just a waiting game, until it's time to hit the road.
Lots of spring time work to do outside around here yet....I"m getting to all of it slowly...but I'm getting to it. Today is house day....meaning cleaning and laundry, etc. At least for this morning. I think this afternoon, I'll get started on the yard mowing as they are forecasting more rain for Tuesday night....it would be nice to get my mega yard mowed again before the next round of rain sets in. The sweetcorn hasn't popped through the ground yet, but I expect to see it any day now....with the temps we've been having the last week or so, it will take about 10-12 days for it to come through the ground, which means I should be seeing something in the next couple of days or so.
Hope your Monday is starting off right....with a bang and not a whimper!

Your bike ride sounds like it will be so much fun. I hope those guys can relax a little about their bikes and just enjoy the ride. Isn't that what life's all about, anyway?
I miss you. I haven't been around much, because of the new bike and the new guy, but I do think about you alot and hope that you are doing well.
Your friend always,
Rose
