17 long rows of sweetcorn are now planted and top dressed with fertilizer....the ground had good moisture in it, but it would still be nice to have a gentle 1/2 inch rain to kick off those little seeds right. Rain is a possibility tonight, but I think there is a better chance for rain north of us.
Warm today....high 70's...humidity is up a little, enough to feel it, but not to bad. WINDY!!! The wind is gusty, gusty! You've got to plant your feet squarely when walking or you'll go tumbling along like tumbling tumble weed.
I worked late last night and didn't get in until around 3:30am. I was up at 7, so I'm starting to feel the lack of a few extra hours of sleep right about now. I had a late lunch today....just finished in fact....due to making a trip to town for groceries, going to the bank and a few other errands that needed to be done before noon. I bought lunch to bring home with me...one of those rotisserrrrrrrrire chickens, along with some spicy baked beans and creamy, cheesey Mac & cheese....all from the grocery store deli. It was all really pretty good and sure beat cooking something and then having the clean up, when I still had groceries to get put away. A looooong nap is in order this afternoon, as I will be working late into the night again tonight.
Tomorrow will be a day to take it easy and enjoy the wonderful weather. I have some windows open in the house right now....it's sure nice to have a comfy little breeze blowing through the house and getting things aired out a little. I slept with 2 of my 3 bedroom windows open last night..........AHHHHHHHHHHH......I always sleep better when I can let the night air in with me.
