Took a day trip to the city yesterday....I needed a day away!
Got a haircut....I really needed it, since it had been 2 months since my last one. Snip, snip, snip and 10 minutes later, 2 months worth of hair growth was on the floor. The cowlick will be under control again for a few weeks...
I bought another CompactFlash card for my camera. I bought a 1gig card for $100. I can remember a few years ago, when I bought my first digital camera , that a 32mb card cost almost that much. Prices have really come down. So now, I have a 512mb card that will hold 145 pictures and the 1 gig that should hold close to 300....I think that should hold me for whatever I decide to take pictures of...
I went to see the movie Sahara before heading home last night. What a great action/adventure movie. If you like that kind of thing....like I do....then I highly recommend this movie. It was great. The acting was very good, with believeable characters and great action sequences. Lots of good, understated comedy in it too. This movie gets 2 big thumbs up from me.
I also brought home 3, 1/2 Jim Beam whiskey barrels to use as planters. Not sure where they will go yet, but I'll figure it out. They are plenty big, so once they are filled with dirt, they will be pretty heavy and will be staying put. I plan to fill one with Impatiens and let it take over and overflow the barrel with a huge mass of multiple colors.
I took a little time to walk around and shop yesterday afternoon, but didnt' spend much money....just a couple of small inexpensive things, that tripped my trigger and appealed to the geek in me.....I realized that I'm pretty easily amused...
Anyway, it was a good day and I got to see some friends for a couple of hours....which was the best part of all!
