Fog so thick, it's like trying to walk through yogart this morning. Warmer moist air and cold moist snow have combined to give the landscape an eerie, surreal feeling. I'm not a fan of fog.....it does nothing but confuse you and causes accidents on the road that hurt people.
I'm a contact lens wearer....if you didn't already know it. I started wearing them in 1970 at age 12....so I guess that's about 34 years ago. I still wear the hard contacts, although a few years ago, I switched to the gas permeable kind that let oxygen through to get to the eye. I think it's about time to replace the set I've been wearing for some time now. Even though I clean them every day, eventually they get rough and scratched, which not only reduces my vision slightly, but can make them uncomfortable to wear if they get to bad. My right eye has been watering a little the last few days. At first I thought I had a bit of a cold, but after looking at the lens, I'm pretty sure that it needs either a good cleaning done by the eye doctor or to be replaced. I had an eye check up just about a year ago at this time of year. My eyes are still in good shape and the Dr. said that if he hadn't known that I was a contact wearer, that he couldn't have told it from examining my eyes. I don't have the wear ring on my eye that most contact lens users get. I wish I had the extra money just laying around to be able to afford the Lasik procedure and be able to get rid of them permantly. 2 of my brothers have had it and it has been completely successful with them......maybe one day I'll be able to get it too.
I was fascinated for a good portion of the evening last night, watching the Barret-Jackson classic car auction on the speed channel on TV. Several gorgeous cars that "car guys" like myself lust over, went on the auction block. The prices they brought were astonishing! Oh how I wish I'd kept my first car, a 1970 Mustang Mach 1...
Now, as I sit here and look out my window, huge snowflakes have begun to fall out of the dense fog....unreal....I've never seen anything like it! I think it might be time to put another log on the fire and hunker down.
I hope it's warm and that the sun is shining, where ever you are today....

Only a very small majority of them end up in shelters/rehoming centres/sanctuaries. So if you consider that, can you imagine the HUGE number of rabbits that are just put down or let go?! It's appalling...
