is Christmas dinner. It's quietly aging in my refrigerator....just waiting for it's spectacular performance in the oven on Christmas morning!
It's been a quiet morning so far, here at the ranch. The coffee is almost gone....er...the second pot I mean. I slept well, but was awake early and decided not to try the roll over and try to go back to sleep thing. I'll never understand why you sleep less and wake up earlier as you get older. So, up I got and started the coffee at 5:15am.
I've gotten quite a bit done already today....enough that I can take some time here. I'll be grocery shopping this afternoon.....just a couple of last minute grocery items for Sunday, as well as the regular weekly grocery shopping. I've managed to avoid the wobbley wheeled cart for the last 2 weeks....I'm going for a record 3 weeks in a row!
Rain is predicted...I'm not sure they know exactly when it will get here, but perhaps today, perhaps tomorrow. Then it might flurry. Funny how just a couple of weeks ago, we thought we'd have several feet of snow for Christmas and now we are down to just a few spots where the deepest drifts were. I would love a 50 degree Christmas day...which it's possible we might have.
I'm not a Grinch....I'm really not.....it just seems that it's lost a little something this year. I don't have much excitement or anticipation this year. It just seems.....dull.....like, "Ok...let's get this over with and move on." I don't know why exactly. Maybe next year will be better.
