Warmer southerly winds are finally blowing today....it's suppose to warm up and be a really nice day outside. I will try to get my sweetcorn patch planted this afternoon I think!

Today is May 1st....although, when I was a little kid...we knew it as May Basket Day. And that...was a very long time ago. I doubt that many...if any of you...are even familiar with May Baskets. The kids around here thses days don't know a thing about it.

But, when I was a little kid...I'm talking long, long long ago...May Basket Day was a big thing....

Friday....

What to say....what to say?

Still hovering around 40 degrees and cloudy/overcast....not so great. No rain yet today, but the possibility still lingers. frown

I really wanted to be out taking some pics today, but the cloudiness and greyness of the day kind of puts me off that. Guess I'll hang around, drink some more coffee and make a few phone calls for things that...

Cool, cloudy and damp outside....a good day to stay inside...except I'm spending my time writing checks to pay bills. A necessary job but.....UGH! puke

Not much going on here at the ranch today...just waiting out the weather I guess.

I made chicken fettichenni ( sp ) alfredo for dinner today....a good day for something warm and filling. It's almost the first day of May and the...

nah, I just have been really weak at commenting in people's journals. If I didn't ever want to comment, you wouldn't be on my friends list! tongue

So many things to say.....

Sometimes I have things to say, but I'm not sure if I want to say them here....or how to say them here....

Will I be embarassed or feel vulnerable putting myself out in the open like that?

So...stick to safe stuff...like weather and whats to eat for dinner.

So many things I'd like to say...

I've got to think about...

A cloudless sky and a full moon made for an interesting night last night. I drove around the backroads last night and Friday night, until around 3:30am........things were pretty quiet, except for all the nocturnal animals that were out scurrying around. It's always amazed me how they can navigate and function in such darkness...I'm a little envious of their night vision.

The temps took a...

oh come on! a tedium-filled list is still wonderful because it's things that are easily done, and you can always know that when you read between the lines you see how exciting your life really is.

i guess.

maybe.

i loved the full moon this past weekend. so inspiring.

i haven't had too many nocturnal animal experiences of late, but i have been inundated with bugs! at first it was just a wolf spider, but then he disappeared, so now i have a PLETHORA of ants, crickets, inchworms, moths, what i believed to be a baby june bug, and a few other little flying things.

wolf spider, how i miss thee. let me count the ways!

A little lighting....a little rumble....a little rain...in the night. It made for good sleeping weather. I'm not sure what it is about rain, that you can hear in the night, that makes sleeping so good.....perhaps it's the consistancy of the rain fall....like a ticking clock....that hypontises your brain into that deep peaceful sleep. Whatever it is, it seems to work!

Spring has always been a...

Rain this morning....not much....pretty much a quick splash, but probably more on the way later today.

Mom's 82nd Birthday went off well. The phone rang off the hook for her, with calls and she must've gotten 25 - 30 cards in the mail. She tried to let on that it was no big deal, but I could tell that she pleased and felt good about...

The last couple of days of last week and this weekend really wiped me out. Traveling to and from a funeral...the funeral itself...and the aftermath of it, all combined to sap a great deal of energy. There is quite a whole story behind the ordeal, but I don't feel like going into the whole thing here, right now. Let's just say that the whole of...
