Be it ever so humble, there's no place like home sweet home!

Got back home from the motorcycle road trip yesterday at noon. 4 1/2 days, 1511.8 miles round trip....what a ride! 5 bikes, no mishaps, no close calls or breakdowns. What a great bunch of guys to ride with and spend 4 days with.

We started out on Thursday with warm temps and sunshine...

The last couple of days have been pretty amazing weather wise....I wish it could just stay like this forever...year around....something tells me that won't happen soon!

I'be been scurrying around like a little squirrel...doing this here and doing that there...getting alot of things done. Accomplishment is a good feeling. Going to the local garden center tomorrow for plants and things to make the place look...

Yeah, it was so sad, at the end of the programme, one of the cheetas was killed by a lion, so sad, the other one was left alone.

Hey keep up the practice with those circles! smile

Wednesday....

A fine day...not a perfect day...but a fine day no less! The overcast skies kept the sun at bay, until just a few minutes ago and a light breeze kept things interesting. The therm mo meter hit 70 and it was nice to be outside.

I spent the late aftenoon in manual labor. Washing, scrubbing dried bug goo and waxing. There is something quite...

you would be the best idea person though! i really appreciate the ability to keep what's good about the old, and yet be open to the new.

that's just the type of energy we'll be needing. hm, although a morning hello man will probably work out well too.

kiss
sophie:
awww! your rides are all pretty! new, yet classic. see! that's what i'm talkin' about!

Windy....but WARM today....I'll take it! The rest of the week looks grand too!

Dinner ( that's lunch to all my fine city friends ) is over and I'm ready to get back to work.

My sweetcorn has popped through the ground and can now be rowed. It's a variety called Bodacious...yellow & white mixed kernels and extra extra sweet....it makes my mouth water just to...

I whipped up a great Sunday dinner....pork shoulder roast with carrots and onions....my homemade mashed potatos and an apple salad....it was hard, but I held myself to just one helping and didn't have seconds.

I tried to get a nap in the afternoon and catch up on some sleep, but couldn't seem to snooze for more than a few minutes at a time. I went...

Man, your cooking sounds wonderful. we have the same taste in food, it seems. Tonight I got ballsy and made chicken noodle soup from scratch. it is almost done and I am all proud. Schlorff got to eat carrotts and chicken, so she is happy, too.
Your bike ride sounds like it will be so much fun. I hope those guys can relax a little about their bikes and just enjoy the ride. Isn't that what life's all about, anyway?

I miss you. I haven't been around much, because of the new bike and the new guy, but I do think about you alot and hope that you are doing well.

Your friend always,
Rose

And so the rain continues.....we are now at 4.8 inches since Tuesday night, when it all started. Scattered showers today look to be about the end of it for awhile. I was hoping for 1/2 to 1 inch....it over did it just a little. I must say thought, the thunderstorms have been spectacular. On the drive home last night, the night sky was lit almost...

Aw that cat sounds nice, mine are always sleeping on my bed, its so comforting to have them there.

I like that description of the storm and Im really glad you found my journal interesting! Good luck with these things you have to solve 'Sabre' biggrin smile

The lightening flashed and the thunder rolled most of the night last night....some of the lightening was too damn close. When the hair stands up on your head and you're blind from the flash, it's too damn close! Of course the electricity went out, making me stumble my way to bed a little early....feeling the walls for doorways and obstacles. We had some rain with...

It would be hard to describe all the things that have gone on, in the last couple of days.....so I won't try. Everything is back to normal now and I can get some sleep again....Yay for normal and normal sleep!

My brother and I have started planning our first motorcycle trip of the year. We will be riding to South Dakota and the Mt. Rushmore...

17 long rows of sweetcorn are now planted and top dressed with fertilizer....the ground had good moisture in it, but it would still be nice to have a gentle 1/2 inch rain to kick off those little seeds right. Rain is a possibility tonight, but I think there is a better chance for rain north of us.

Warm today....high 70's...humidity is up a little, enough...

Thanks for the birthday wishes and the comments on the rabbit, it took me about three days...hard to believe for something so tiny! OK....so I didn't get the sweetcorn patch planted yesterday. Perhaps this afternoon, if I can work things out right.

I ended up mowing the yard yesterday, instead of planting the sweetcorn. I have 4 acres of yard to mow and the one thing all this rain we've been having is doing, is making the grass grow! It takes me about 4 hours to mow the...
