Yeah, I'm in the class. I was 7 on the list, and 6 registered students and two ahead of me on the wait list didn't show up. Our first project is some kind of wire-and-plaster thing based on a photo of another sculpture. I think I want to base mine on the statue of Hachiko outside of Shibuya Station.

Well, Gavin's 3rd birthday was yesterday. We had a party for him on Saturday and took him out to eat and have a milkshake last night. The party went fine...it was very small, just us and some of my family. Gavin had a great time opening his presents and trying to demolish his pinata.

There are about 800 fires raging through California right now, and as I live in a valley, the sky/air has FILLED with smoke. Gav's allergies are too bad to breathe that. It makes him cough and sneeze...so....lots of indoor stuff.

I love all things ironic and/or absurd - dry humour is a superb tool to (hopefully) make people think a bit about what they're doing and about the world around, sometimes.
I hope the situation is getting better in California - that always makes me sad to see all these trees burning (and houses too, obviously). I was recently reading about the air pollution that resulted from all those fires and that is quite scary
Let's hope things get back to normal soon and that you & your kid can enjoy the summer!

Don't worry about Gav's dad moving further away. You'll work something out.
I'm sorry that Gav's dad is moving so far away... but maybe that is for the best till he gets on his feet. Might help him to put things in perspective. And like Fishy said: Gav has YOU and you are a phenomenal mom!
