Its no secret, Im a big geek.
Theres no better feeling then catching someone in the middle of trying to hack one of my systems and scaring the crap out of him.
Today it was a guy using an autodialer to try to brute force his way into my phone system. I caught him in the middle of it then forwarded all his calls to my phone and stated "you better stop right now asshole, I am tracing the call, and you will be arrested" (Of course it wouldnt do alot of good considering he was spoofing his address and going through numerous proxys)
I do however have to follow a report with the FBI since it was one of my work systems and he did manage to get off a few calls before I shut him down. Luckily I have call recording of everything he said but I could not understand the language. I hold no hope that the guy will actually be caught as the FBI's cyber crime division is inept.
