this morning i had gotten an email from my friend andy. when i opened it i was utterly shocked and overwhelmed. here is that email. along with my response at the end.

dear rye,
i don't know if you heard, but karate for kids is playing it's final, goodbye, we're no longer a band show on september 27th with latterman, at the tower.

needless to say i want you to be there, but furthermore, ... and this may seem odd, i'd like your help.

karate for kids, from the beginning, was supposed to be about cleveland community, and i always felt that you were backing that regardless of any sort of differences. it meant a lot to the band, and a whole lot to me - a kid who joined this "punk" scene late in the game and felt a bit out of place the whole time.

so, simply, i would love for you to sing a song with us, if you want to. you have always been an awesome person to me, and supported our band, and i think it would be awesome if you were part of our final set. so if you want to, i got this idea in one of our songs for you to sing, and it would really mean a lot to me.

so get back to me, let me know if you think you can make it that day (a TUESDAY!) and sing along with us.

yeah, dan mentioned something to me about him moving to berkely soon and that he was planning a final show and was thinking of asking us to play.. but anyways...

i do not know what to say right now. i am pretty speechless and honored that you would ask me to do this. i seriously am very overwhelmed at the idea.

i would love to participate in this very much so. ive always been a fan of you guys(as friends and as a band)

although i cannot carry a note to save my life, i will try and hopefully not embarass,K4K and myself.

I will also be on hand to take as many pictures as humanly possible.

Let me know the scoop with your idea and such.I seriously am flattered by all this and this made my day. thank you
